Disconnect to Reconnect

PULSE Partner Dance and Cocréa Mindful Partner Dance are thrilled to expand on last year’s campout. Once again, we offer you a sanctuary where movement is medicine, connection becomes communion, and mindful partner dance stokes the fire of your most authentic self.

Join us for three delightful & transformative days in the rolling hills of Sonoma County for a heart opening, stress melting, community weaving, booty shaking good time. This isn’t just another dance weekend—it’s an invitation to slow your grind and realign to your heart in resonance with others.

Delight is a gift of serendipity

… of allowing good fortune to occur to you, and yet it can only happen when your attitude becomes lighter and less grasping…

it requires first accepting what is.

-Richard Rudd, The Gene Keys

What others say about their Pulse & Cocréa experience:

I appreciated so much of Wren’s teaching style, the wide spectrum of knowledge/wisdom, the somatic modeling and the poetic/playful articulation. Similarly felt with Rebecca, Elliot and Eric. Y’all made an amazing team!!

2024 Campout Participant

This campout was a really delightful way to drop in and connect person-to-person. The campout was facilitated beautifully, with classes and workshops and lots of time to just play and connect. I feel more integrated into the Pulse community now, and I’m really grateful for that.

Elena

2024 Campout Participant

Before this retreat I was feeling depleted, under nourished of touch, and seriously needing some fun. During the retreat I felt delightful connection, deep laughter, curiosity to learn, and safely held touch. I went home with a new touch point of what non-grasping, no longer over efforting really feels like in my body.

Fusion & Cocréa Dance DJ

WREN LAFEET

Wren LaFeet has been instigating dance parties since 2008. Always working with an awareness of the room he’s in, Wren crafts dance sets that are sonic journeys facilitating deeper embodiment, connection and presence. Having danced his own way towards freedom since 1998 with his roots in swing, salsa, hip-hop and contemporary styles, he holds a deep connection to the power of dance to liberate, and the importance of the music fueling the journey.

As a deep inner somatic practicioner himself, Wren innately understands his role as an “ecstatic technician” when behind the wheel of the spaceship: to open the pathway and invite dancers to go where few have gone before. He also throws down booty bouncing bass sets that open up your sacral chakra and unwind your spine, as well as deep downtempo sets that drop you into the far reaches of the subtle currents of consciousness.

His broad musical tastes and hyper-attuned facilitation skills offer a container for the numinous experience of spinaesthesia to emerge: seeing sound as movement and becoming the music. Wren welcomes you home to yourself, to let go of what is not serving, and better still, integrate that shift and be danced into the divine.

Find her most Tuesday and Wednesdays at The Casino, a cozy family friendly hometown bar and grill located in Bodega, CA, at The Occidental Arts and Ecology Center, or Catering local events. Alyssum believes in the connection between healthy food, healthy individuals and a healthy planet.

Every meal will be vegan based with the option to add animal products such as eggs and cheese. ADDITIONAL PARTICIPATION

Everyone attending is asked to contribute a minimum of 1-2 hours of time during the course of this weekend to help the container itself flow well.  This can include the recognizable, common and very needed community-supporting tasks, such as space setting/cleaning, meal prep, doing dishes, etc.

BRINGING YOUR LITTLE LOVED ONES

While we have hopes that this event could be family friendly, that adds an order of complexity that we don’t feel able to take on in this year’s event, thus we are not able to accommodate folx under 18 years old. If you want to have a conversation about this, please reach for Elliot via email: elliotkatz6 [at] gmail.

NO PETS PLEASE.

Ready to Activate your Embodied Presence?

WAIT!

WHAT IS COCRÉA?!

Wow so glad you asked!

Cocréa is basically Fusion partner dance with an a strong streak of intentionality. It’s as much a path of personal development as it is an invitation and training ground to become a better dancer.

It sits playfully and sincerely at the intersection of Fusion, Contact Improvisation, Ecstatic Dance, relational coherence & authenticity cultivation as a practice for navigating life’s many changes.

Cocréa embraces form and structure that supports the flowering of powerful presence and intimacy with another and community using the architecture of the body and awareness to create space for freedom and play.

With partner dance as our vehicle, we incorporate fundamentals of mindfulness and ever refining practices for connection to awaken in the body. Our container is held by trauma sensitive educators* and consent informed, to support and guide you in a beautiful practice of attuned listening – both with the self and others – and stay in the fullness and truth of your experience.

As Cocréa’s movement roots are in American vernacular dance (Swing, Blues, Charleston and Hip-Hop primarily), the opportunity is ripe for the inclusion and honoring of other dance styles, forms and aesthetics, and the emergence of altogether new ones including the formless to co-create the dance.

Typically in the realms of Sacred Other and Community, practitioners remain standing while within Self, Earth, Music and Whole, there is an invitation to find expressions that explore other levels down to the ground, architecture of the space, configurations of partnering beyond couples and stillness in any form.

There is no fixed aesthetic.

The dance flourishes when there is clarity of invitation, elasticity in the connection, and a vividness of presence detached from outcome or agenda that we commonly refer to as delightful, delicious or “juicy”.

*Wren LaFeet is a HeartMath trained trauma sensitive educator.

TICKET TRANSFER

Transfer of tickets to someone else are preferred to refunds, and can happen at any time.

Please note: they also require a few more steps in order to get the new person integrated into the container!

Ticket transfer process:
1) Original buyer forwards their confirmation email to the new ticket buyer as well as to rebecca.e.berman [at] gmail in order to notify us of the transaction.

2) And then the new ticket buyer will need to go through the registration steps for themselves so that we have all of their necessary info in order to be integrated well.

– 50% refund until 12am on Sept 5th
– no refund after 12am on September 5th

Why do we have this policy?

Our ticket prices are set to cover our costs, as well as to pay us as organizers for the immense energy output required to hold this event. By having this cancellation policy, we are sharing the financial risk with you in case you can’t come and no one else takes your place (especially since it may be close to the actual event). This policy also empowers you to help this event be successful and wonderful for everyone by helping find someone to replace your participation, and do so seamlessly for the whole container.

It’s our hope that through fostering an understanding of how much goes into creating these spaces for community to connect, learn and play which so many of us have received benefit from, that we can begin to co-create a culture that is more collaborative and regenerative rather than extractive and transactional.

Ticket transfer policy applies to all tickets: full event tickets, accommodations, and meal tickets.
