October 3rd, 2026

My key take aways from Cocréa are the power of listening, invitation (consent tools), conversational dance, and EMBODIED dance.
This retreat was everything I needed. Wren and Brenée showed me that partner dance is way more accessible than I thought. It used to seem like some unreachable lofty ideal, but this weekend I lived it. I feel more confident, more connected, and more alive than I have in a long time. I can’t wait to learn more! Thank you Cocréa!!
You are a wizard! You make incredible magic happen between people (individuals and groups). You have x-ray vision right into the heart of what’s needed and then you offer the exact medicine for whatever that thing is and the medicine you share is playful, juicy and sweet, so it’s a joy to receive.

Returning to Roots. Tending to Technique.
All of these workshops are beginner to intermediate in level, so there will be something for everyone.
3:10-3:25 Short Break
This practice is all about PRESENCE! Technique focuses on a close embrace, a relaxed frame in which the lead/follow roles are less defined and expanding our listening to the music and our partner to hear subtlety and nuance. We’ll play with stalls, tone and speed ramps, recognizing when the music is about to hand you an epic drop to accent, and how to communicate through the body in a conversation where both people are listening and speaking at the same time.

Wren LaFeet

Wren is an embodiment guide devoted to living in right-relationship as a Gaian Emissary and somatic permissionary.
Holding the prayers of integrity, intimacy and presence, Wren creates brave spaces for humans struggling with disconnection and longing for a deeper sense of BElonging, to come home to themselves through the body.
His body of work, Cocréa, synthesizes social partner dance, mindfulness, Taoism, the Gene Keys, the wisdom of watersheds, neuroscience and psychology in service of interpersonal connection that raises frequency through somatic inquiry and prompts positive change.
Wren is a TEDx speaker, Gene Keys Guide, featured author in “ReInhabiting the Village”, certified Attunement Therapy practitioner and HeartMath certified trauma sensitive somatic educator.
He began performing on stage when he was 6 years old.
Wren holds a BA in Drama and Dance and began dancing in 1998 at the height of the swing dance revival. An explorer by nature, he immediately starting to fuse dance styles, particularly swing, hip hop and contemporary movement in compositional and improvisational capacities.
He lives on stolen land in the traditional homelands of the Nisenan people (so called Nevada City/Grass Valley, CA), in the Sierra Nevada Foothills of the watershed known in the native language as Uba’Seo.
He gives praise and homage to the many women in his life that have been his teachers and guides, particularly his Cocréa co-founder and former partner, Antje Schäfer, his mother, Kristin Mineah, Valora Hanko, who cracked him open to the inquiry of Love as the underlying nature of all things, and Malina Dawn, who’s depth and wisdom is still breaking him into wholeness.
He also bows deep to the men in his life who have gone through hell to give him this opportunity to share a different vision of masculine strength. Dennis Naumann, Frederick August Naumann, and Robert Barret Mineah, his Octagon brothers and his current VI Kings cohort.
Wren is currently receiving inquiries for 1 on 1 client work. Couples and individuals are welcome to book single sessions or work with Wren for 3-month Embodied Connection coaching containers. Learn more at WRENLAFEET.COM

Brenée Roussel
Cocréa Facilitator
With roots in authentic movement and ecstatic dance, Brenee’s path has been shaped by a lifelong devotion to the body as a site of wisdom, healing, and belonging. As the first graduate of Cocréa’s facilitator training, she brings a rare depth to the dance floor — one forged through years of accompanying people through the most vulnerable and transformative thresholds of their lives.
Her work as a birth doula lives at the heart of her teaching. Having held space at the edge of emergence, she understands intimately what it means to release control, trust sensation, and surrender into something larger than the thinking mind. She carries that same quality of presence into every class — creating conditions where dancers feel genuinely safe to soften, to not-know, and to meet one another with full attention.
Brenee guides dancers into the art of genuine attunement — where the quality of your inner presence becomes the quality of your connection. She believes that deepening your relationship with yourself is the most generous thing you can offer a partner.
Beyond her own classes, Brenee is deeply woven into the fabric of the Cocréa community. She supports both the Facilitator and Foundation Trainings, helping to shape the next generation of mindful partner dance teachers. Closer to home, she co-hosts Yuba Flow Fusion in Nevada City alongside Wren — a gathering that brings the spirit of Cocréa into the heart of the Sierra foothills.
Her passion is to help dancers come home to their bodies, discover their own authentic movement signature, and experience the quiet revolution of being truly met.
