My key take aways from Cocréa are the power of listening, invitation (consent tools), conversational dance, and EMBODIED dance.
My experience at Wren’s Dance Your Medicine retreat was a total initiation.
The energy that Cocrea brings is one of really landing in the intimacy of the dance.
What stands out as one of my biggest takeaways is being able to more deeply feel the awe and wonder of my dance partner.
You are a wizard! You make incredible magic happen between people (individuals and groups). You have x-ray vision right into the heart of what’s needed and then you offer the exact medicine for whatever that thing is and the medicine you share is playful, juicy and sweet, so it’s a joy to receive.
A Day of Dancing with Presence, Flow & Surrender
What we’re doing: A partner dance workshop that bridges technique with energetics. Learn somatic practices for deepening presence, attunement, and flow with your dance partners—whether you dance salsa, blues, tango, swing, or any other social partner form.
Who it’s for: Anyone with partner dance experience who’s curious about the subtle dimensions of connection—energetic awareness, embodied listening, and dancing from a more integrated, intuitive place.
What you’ll explore:
- Energetic attunement and visualization practices that enhance partner connection
- How to read and navigate attraction, activation, and relational energies with confidence
- “Somatic contemplation” – a practice of curiosity and listening that goes beyond steps
- The archetypal wisdom of the Gene Keys and Tao as frameworks for embodied awareness
No prior knowledge of Gene Keys, Human Design, or somatic practices required. Wren will introduce these concepts through direct experience on the dance floor.
What you’ll leave with: Practical tools for greater self-assurance in reading relational dynamics. A felt sense of how technique, rhythm, and energetic awareness weave together to create transformative dance experiences.
This is Cocréa’s “Feeling” workshop—the third pillar alongside Rhythm and Physics. We gather as fellow students exploring embodied wisdom through playful, creative practice.
Meet Your Guide

Wren LaFeet
Lead Facilitator | Embodiment Guide | Cocréa Director & Founder
Wren is an embodiment guide committed to practices that encourage living in right-relationship. A trained dancer, theater worker, mindfulness facilitator and former recovery counselor, Wren shares body-based practices synthesized from social partner dance, mindfulness, Taoism, the Gene Keys, waterways and relating with other humans that support interpersonal connection and positive change.
In 2013, Wren founded Cocréa with co-founder Antje Schaefer, as a vehicle for transformation through exploring mindful, consent based partnered movement as a relational practice. Channeling what he has come to acknowledge as an intelligence that wants the highest possible outcome for humanity, he creates brave spaces for humans seeking a deeper sense of belonging to come home to themselves and the earth through the body.
Wren is a TEDx speaker, featured author in “ReInhabiting the Village”, certified Attunement Therapy practitioner and HeartMath certified trauma sensitive educator. He holds a BA in Drama and Dance and began dancing in 1998 at the height of the swing dance revival. He immediately began fusing dance styles, particularly swing, hip hop and contemporary movement. He began performing in front of audiences at the age of 6 and as a neurospicy human, thrives when channeling his boundless energy, curious mind and empathetic capacity into service to others.
Wren is a Gene Keys Guide and a devotee of the Gene Keys since 2013.
